JAPN 200 - Second Year Japanese 1

Students with pre-intermediate Japanese language ability will further their skills in oral and written communication on familiar topics. They will gain the listening and speaking skills and abilities to converse on their future plans, intentions, experiences, needs and wants. Reading and writing skills will be developed further by production of multiple paragraph-length compositions using increasingly complex grammar and a greater number of Kanji characters. Grammar and vocabulary are learned in oral and written contexts related to past and future experiences in both polite and casual forms. Students will interact with one another in Japanese to develop fluency and confidence. To add to their knowledge of the language, students will learn some aspects of Japanese culture.
