JAPN 101 - Introduction to Japanese 2

Credits: 3 Total Hours: 60

Students with a beginning-level Japanese language ability will further develop oral and written communication skills. They expand on existing listening, speaking, and conversational abilities to be able to converse on their preferences and opinions on familiar topics. Students’ reading and writing skills will be developed further to include both longer sentences as well as paragraphs. Students will be introduced to and be able to read and write an increasing number of Kanji. Grammar and vocabulary will be introduced in the context of dialogues on familiar topics in both the polite form and casual form. Students will interact with one another in Japanese to develop fluency and confidence. To add to their knowledge of the language, students will learn some aspects of Japanese culture.
