Overview
Students in Sector-Specific Employment Training develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge that prepare them for employment in a variety of entry-level work sectors. Each specialization can be completed in 15 weeks; part-time study options are available. Students will be introduced to the language, practices and skills used in different sectors through applied learning activities and work experience placements.

Admissions
All students admitted to the Sector-Specific Employment Training program must participate in an interview to determine suitability for the program and for working in an applied learning setting at the college. A Certificate in Employment Preparation is advised.
Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Identify and rehearse the, attitudes, knowledge, practices and skills related to specific sectors of entry level employment.
- Practice industry and community expectations doing entry level work with respect to safety, customer service, quality assurance and working relationships.
- Follow instructions and ask for appropriate help from supervisors and coworkers during applied learning activities and work experience placements.
- Apply job search skills towards current occupational goals.
Additional Information
- Certain work experience placements may require a Criminal Record Check.
- Students must be able to safely navigate the community independently.
