Overview
This diploma allows students to design their own program in a full or part-time academic framework. This program suits students who are either very certain of their educational goals and have further studies in mind, or students who want to explore the potential of post-secondary education.
To offer flexibility and options, yet still preserve academic structure, the Arts & Science Studies program gives students the choice of 20 (minimum 60 credits) 100-level or higher courses. A minimum of 14 (minimum 42 credits) of the courses must be from disciplines offered by the School of Arts & Science. The School of Arts & Science has a wide range of transferable courses to customize a program of study to meet students’ personal, academic, and career goals.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program students will be able to:
- Articulate a personal academic or career learning plan and the required steps necessary to achieve it.
- Identify when information is needed and then find, evaluate, and appropriately utilize it.
- Assess, evaluate, and process information appropriate to the area(s) of study.
- Solve problems relevant to chosen disciplinary applications.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and coherently in a style appropriate for the purpose, situation, and audience.
Curriculum
- Completion of 20 (min 60 credits) 100-level or higher courses.
- A minimum of 14 (min 42 credits) of the courses must be from any discipline offered by the School of Arts and Science in the categories of Arts, Humanities, Social Science and Science, including:
- Anthropology (ANTH), Asia-Pacific Studies (ASIA), Astronomy (ASTR)
- Biology (BIOL)
- Chemistry (CHEM), Communications (CMNS), Creative Writing (CRWR), Criminal Justice (CRIM)
- Digital Media (DIME)
- English (ENGL), Environmental Technology (ENVR)
- French (FREN)
- Gender Studies (GSWS), Geography (GEOG), Geoscience (GEOS)
- History (HIST)
- Japanese (JAPN)
- Korean (KORE)
- Mathematics (MATH), Music (MUS)
- Philosophy (PHIL), Physics (PHYS), Political Science (PSC), Psychology (PSYC)
- Religion (REL)
- Sociology (SOC), Social Work (SOCW), Spanish (SPAN), Statistics (STAT)
- Visual Arts (ART), Visual Storytelling (VIST).
- The remaining 6 (min 18 credits) courses may be any 100- level or higher course.
Note: only one of MATH 100 and MATH 108 , and only one of MATH 107 and MATH 115 may be applied to this credential.

Optional Program Credential Designation
Note:
A student who successfully completes ASDP 101 but does not complete ASDP 201 will qualify for an Internship Designation instead of the Cooperative Education Designation.
