Overview
The Diploma in Massage Therapy prepares graduates to become independent, successful, and professional health care providers in the area of massage therapy.
The program includes advanced theoretical knowledge and the practical application of the skills necessary to provide safe, effective, and ethical massage therapy that meets entry to practice requirements of the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC. Students learn to apply principles of physical, health, and social sciences as they relate to massage therapy in the classroom, simulated environments, and through clinical placements in the community.
Career/Academic Advancement Opportunities
Graduates who attain a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) designation are qualified to seek employment opportunities in a variety of settings such as private practices, massage therapy clinics, Chiropractic, Athletic Therapy and Physiotherapy multi-disciplinary clinics, elite athletic teams, wellness centers, and spa resorts.
Massage Therapy is a regulated profession in British Columbia and graduates will be eligible to write the registration examination set by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC. Graduates who attain a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) designation are eligible to sit the exam to obtain the Sport Massage Therapy Certificate.
