Overview
This program fosters programming skills and artistic vision to take on creative and technical challenges for those who are artistically and technologically inclined. Students acquire the tools needed to take an idea or a problem and develop it from concept to production. This multidisciplinary program gives students the opportunity to write professional documentation, design and implement stories or games, and apply knowledge to create their own interactive experiences.
Career/Academic Advancement Opportunities
Graduates with the one-year certificate will be able to follow a software development career path as a junior application or web developer or look to a career as a junior graphics designer.
Graduates with the one-year certificate may also choose to continue on into year 2 of the program.

At the completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Assist with programming, deployment, security, and maintenance of software applications.
- Retrieve, store, and maintain data in keeping with industry and client standards.
- Use correct terminology, notation, and symbolic processes in logic and Boolean algebra to facilitate proper programming skills and logical thinking.
- Describe the response of various types of computer algorithms to changes in input size.
- Use probability theory and statistical techniques to organize, summarize, and display data in a meaningful way to solve applied problems.
- Apply design principles, project management, and critical thinking through collaborative design using foundational terms, visual expressions, and technology in the planning, design, and production of digital media projects.
- Apply introductory techniques used in 3D modelling to create geometric shapes.
- Develop and apply techniques used in audio, video, photography, and animation with various digital applications in 2D.
- Communicate and work effectively in a diverse team of technical, non-technical team and/or inter-cultural team mates.
- Demonstrate professional and ethical responsibility in the practice as a technician.
