ENVR 260 - Environmental Remediation Credits: 3 Total Hours: 90 Remediation is crucial in mitigating environmental impacts and, in this course, students will look at a number of local and global case studies that address waste management issues. Students will conduct experiments in the identification, analysis, and remediation of various chemical and biological contaminants. Students will investigate current and alternative approaches to waste management and elimination such as solid/liquid waste treatment, industrial-ecology/circular-economy, biomimicry, and biotechnology. Through lab experiments, lectures, case studies, and field trips, students explore contaminated site remediation and methods used to reduce the environmental impact of societal waste.
