AET 261 - Emergency Conditions 2


Credits: 3 Total Hours: 75
Restricted to students in Athletic & Exercise Therapy
Students will study theoretical and practical applications of advanced skills to evaluate and care for emergency conditions as they pertain to the scope of practice of a First Responder and an Athletic Therapist. Students will apply anatomical, physiological and biomechanical knowledge to the prevention and assessment of injuries and illnesses, as they relate to urgent care and patient transportation. Students will study theoretical and practical applications of advanced urgent care skills needed to evaluate acute and chronic injuries and conditions related to the thoracic, abdominal and pelvic regions, the musculoskeletal system, and the environment. Students will apply theoretical and practical skills in multifactorial situations, including various sporting environments, special populations, crisis intervention, poisonings and multiple casualty incidents.
