Overview
This 8-month program is designed for students interested in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program who do not currently meet the admission requirements or who wish to refresh their skills before entering the diploma program. While upgrading their academic credentials and learning skills, students will have the opportunity to take one or more courses which will give credit towards the Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma.
Opportunities for Academic Advancement
Students who complete this program will have a seat reserved for them in the next intake of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate good use of skills in time management, exam preparation, problem solving, and other learning skills in order to be success in Technology.
- Create technical documents using word processing software that correctly apply grammar and accepted workplace writing styles.
- Show competency in core algebra and precalculus topics sufficient for entry into applied calculus.
- Solve problems in core physics and chemistry topics and utilize scientific laboratory skills at a level sufficient for entry into the Mechanical Engineering Technology program.
- Solve engineering problems using spreadsheets and produce formatted documents using office software.
- Apply skills in the areas of manufacturing, engineering drawing, fluid power or building systems, depending on the elective courses taken.
