Overview
The Diploma in Business Administration - Finance Option is designed to develop the skills and knowledge that allow graduates to work in the finance industry. It offers a foundation in either financial planning or corporate finance, covering areas such as business finance; investment analysis; money, banking, and financial institutions; client relationships and marketing; professional ethics; economics; personal taxations, and accounting.
Career/Academic Advancement Opportunities
Graduates of the Finance option may find career opportunities with banks; finance departments of larger corporations and government; credit unions, and trust companies; investment dealers; mortgage brokerage firms; insurance companies; lending and leasing institutions; and financial planning firms. Graduates may obtain advanced standing and/or recognition in a number of professional programs
Note: Students are encouraged to seek information to ensure that their program is appropriate to their chosen educational goal. Academic Advisors and Department Chairs are available to assist students in planning their program.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Use mathematical methods, logic and reasoning for problem-solving and decision-making in day-to-day practices within a financial environment.

* School of Business courses can include the following subjects: Applied Business Technology (ABT) , Accounting (ACCT) , Business (BUS) , Economics (ECON) , Finance (FIN) , Golf Management (GOLF) , Hospitality Management (HMGT) , Indigenous Business Leadership (IBL) , Marketing (MARK) , Public Administration (PADM) , or Tourism Management (TMGT)

Note:
A student who does not successfully complete the two (2) Cooperative Work Experience courses will not qualify for the Cooperative Education Designation; however the student will qualify for the Internship Designation if they have successfully completed a minimum of one (1) Cooperative Work Experience Course.
Program Participation Requirements
Many first year Business courses require Math as a prerequisite (e.g. “C” in Pre-calculus 11, Foundations of Math 11, MATH 073 , MATH 077 , MATH 137, or “C+” in MATH 072 , MATH 075 , or MATH 135). Students may enter this program without Math but please note, students must complete one of the Math courses as listed above or successfully complete Camosun’s Math assessment in or before their first semester of study
