NURS 110 - The Profession of Nursing

Restricted to students in Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing
Learners will be introduced to the profession of nursing. Learners examine foundational perspectives and concepts of the curriculum and their relationship to the development of autonomous nursing practice. Learners explore the history of the profession of nursing and critically reflect upon the political, cultural, and socioeconomic forces that have influenced and are influencing the evolution of the nursing profession and contemporary nursing roles and responsibilities. Standards of nursing practice and responsibility for safe, competent, and ethical nursing practice are studied.
