STAT 218 - Intro to Probability and Statistics 1 Credits: 3 Total Hours: 67.5 The field of statistics helps to understand and describe the world around us through the analysis and interpretation of data. Students will learn techniques and methods to help informed decision-making through an introduction to the mathematical foundations of statistical inference. After gaining a foundational understanding of descriptive statistics and probability theory, students will apply this framework to understand and make inferences from data using estimation, hypothesis testing, linear regression and categorical data analysis.
