Overview
Graduates of the Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology - Renewable Energy program will leave Camosun College with a broad knowledge of both electronics and computer engineering systems, which will enable them to embrace high technology in all its forms, and to support local industry in maintaining current products and systems and in creating the products of the future. At the same time, the program gives special emphasis to the technologies and control of renewable energy systems, a growth sector in Canada and around the world. Learners will get hands-on experience with leading edge systems and products and with industry standard development environments, which will facilitate a smooth transition into the workplace.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Apply engineering, mathematical and scientific theoretical knowledge to the design, modification, construction, implementation and testing of electronic systems, circuits, equipment, microcontrollers and microprocessors.
- Apply technical skills to design, construct, modify, and test electronic systems, circuits, equipment, microcontrollers and microprocessors.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems related to electronic and computer systems, circuits and equipment by applying advanced principles of engineering, mathematics and sciences.
- Conduct all work in compliance with relevant standards, regulations, codes, and safety practices.
- Apply the basic principles of project management to the development and completion of electronic and computer engineering projects.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively in spoken, written and visual forms appropriate to audience purpose and needs.
- Use interpersonal skills to support and promote effective collaboration and communication with colleagues, team members, and employers.
- Demonstrate professional and ethical conduct as an electronic and computer engineering technologist.

Additional Information
- Graduates of this program with a GPA of at least 5.0 (B) and no grade less than a “C” in any course may apply to the Electrical & Computer Engineering Bridge program which bridges to the third year of Electrical or Computer Engineering at the University of Victoria. Students may apply to enter the Engineering program at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Both universities offer accredited Bachelor of Engineering degrees.
