Overview
The Business Administration - General Management Option program is a dynamic, applied, two-year program designed to provide learners with a solid business education along with additional knowledge, practical skills and abilities to succeed in entry level management careers. Students with related work experience will broaden their management knowledge and abilities and be better prepared for advancement in their careers.
Career/Academic Advancement Opportunities
Graduates are prepared to bring management skills to work in business, not-for-profits, government and entrepreneurial environments. This diploma is designed to provide students with maximum flexibility in choosing courses that will be most relevant to their specific needs. Graduates receive credit towards the Bachelor of Business Administration programs at Camosun College. There is also 2-year block transfer credit to degree programs at other institutions including Royal Roads University and the University of Lethbridge. Transfer credit to other post-secondary institutions on a course-by-course basis is available.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Apply concepts, theories, principles and strategies from business to a range of business management environments and roles.
- Use critical thinking and problem solving skills to facilitate decision making in the business milieu.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with individuals and groups in a variety of business contexts.
- Work and collaborate effectively with others across diverse business environments.
- Apply the principles of professional business ethics and corporate social responsibility in all aspects of work in general management.
- Apply and align business activities with principles of business sustainability.
- Contribute to the development and operationalization of business planning.

* Students may substitute STAT 116 or STAT 216 or STAT 218
** Students planning to complete one of the Camosun College Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) credentials should meet with the specific BBA program leader, chair, or academic advisor before choosing their School of Business electives.
Optional Program Credential Designation
Note:
A student who does not successfully complete the two (2) Cooperative Work Experience courses will not qualify for the Cooperative Education Designation; however the student will qualify for the Internship Designation if they have successfully completed a minimum of one (1) Cooperative Work Experience Course.
Program Participation Requirements
- Many first year Business courses require Math as a prerequisite (e.g. “C” in Pre-calculus 11, Foundations of Math 11, MATH 073 , MATH 077 , MATH 137, or “C+” in MATH 072 , MATH 075 or MATH 135). Students may enter this program without Math but please note, students must complete one of the Math courses as listed above or successfully complete Camosun’s Math assessment in or before their first semester of study.
